The Robert and Sonia Turnquist Library is named in honor of two Packard historians and friends of the Museum.

The staff of Automobile Quarterly (AQ) magazine, published from 1962-2012, compiled most of the books in the Library. The books helped staff with research and fact checking. Automobile Quarterly was a pillar of the automotive community and was acclaimed by historians, journalists, manufacturers, racing enthusiasts, and vintage automobile collectors worldwide. AQ was the gold standard for writing about automobiles and remains an indispensable part of any car lover’s library. After AQ went out of business the books were carefully stored in an Indiana warehouse, and in 2019 they were donated to America’s Packard Museum.

The Turnquist Library consists of over 2,600 books and more are added on a regular basis. The heart of the Turnquist Library is the collection of Packard owner manuals, parts lists, service and training bulletins and manuals, and other company publications, currently being cataloged.
